Review:

First of all, I really like the character in this issue. Bill Willingham just adapted various character from various fables while giving them some interesting twist. For example is our main character, Bigby Wolf. As you (probably) can guess, Bigby Wolf is a character inspired from the Big Bad Wolf. He’s still a vicious beast who has bad history with other Fables but wants to atone his sins by working to protect the people of Fabletown tirelessly.

I also like how Willingham made this issue. I find it very engaging and entertaining until I want to read more Fables comic. He also could introduce us to various new character and a whole new world in such fun way.

Lan Medina also did a nice job in here by giving an nice artwork. His artwork is always looks so realistic and in great detail. It adds a lot of realism to the series and even sometimes, I could forget that they’re a magical creatures when they don’t do anything magical.

Conclusion:

It’s still too early to give Fables a high score, but I must say that this issue is a really good way to start a series. And well, I didn’t confuse at all why this series could last for 13 years.

Score: B+
