Nightwing #2 – Comic Review

Title: Better than Batman Part 2
Writer: Tim Seeley
Artist: Javier Fernandez
Colorist: Chris Sotomayor
Published by DC Comics on August 2016

Short Recap:

Raptor self proclaimed himself as the mentor for Nightwing. Alhough Nightwing doesn’t want to admit it, he realises that he has so much to learn from Raptor. And another suprise for Nightwing, Raptor wants to help him take down the Court of Owl.

The best thing in this issue is where it’s going. When Nightwing admits that Raptor has something he could learn, I’m excited to see where this story is gonna go. After all these years Nightwing try to be “not Batman” hero, he get his chance here. Batman always taught Nightwing to be discipline and to prepare everything. But Raptor here is an entirely different species from the Bat of Gotham. He’s aggresive and could quickly adapt to his surrounding, something Batman can’t.

We also got the greatness from the previous issue. Dick – Barbara relationship also works quite well in this issue. And how Dick choose to go with Raptor instead spend his time with Barbara also makes me wonder where this relation going into. The way Tim Seeley constructs the plot are also great. I love everything Seeley did in this issue.

Javier Fernandez and Chris Sotomayor also continue to give us a quite nice artwork in here. Although there are some little flaws and mistakes in here, I could still say that this is a good one.

Nightwing #2 is a great follow-up for the first issue. It has everything great from the first one and also gives us another great story development. I’m quite sure that Nightwing-Raptor team-up could be something great.
